Our local Wellington Food Bank plays an important role in supporting and addressing issues of hunger and food insecurity. We are proud of our Food Bank’s ability to provide nutritious food to those who might otherwise go without it. This is particularly significant for vulnerable populations, including low-income families, the elderly, and individuals facing temporary financial setbacks. By distributing a variety of food items, including fresh produce, proteins, and non-perishables, we contribute to the overall well-being of the community by ensuring that people have access to basic needs.

What Services Does the Wellington Food Bank Provide Currently?

Our Food Bank is volunteer-run and supported through generous donations from the community. Currently, our Food Bank operates out of River of Life Church on the first and third Thursdays of each month. It’s our goal to expand these services with a new, permanent home for the Food Bank at the Wellington Community Services Center.

What are the Plans for the New, Permanent Food Bank at the Wellington Community Services Center?

With about 7,200 square feet of space to serve as a new home for the Wellington Food Bank, the Community Services Center will also accommodate the most needed social service agencies and will be a model facility to serve our community and the surrounding area. Expansion of our Food Bank space and hours will allow us to better meet the needs of those experiencing food insecurity in our community.
